Our response about the corona virus that bothers us.

we continue to monitor and take the necessary precautions in an unprecedented coronavirus (COVID-19) situation. The health and safety of our panel members, customers, suppliers and employees is of the utmost importance.

We have worked with other Rakuten Group companies to follow recommendations from the World Health Organization and national government agencies in all our offices.

We have implemented several steps to minimize risk, which allows us to maintain operational levels as usual:

We share guidelines for employees to help educate them about viral infections, but also about ways to avoid them (alcohol-based hand sanitizers, hand washing, etc.).

We have implemented a Work from Home policy that allows our staff to access all project tools remotely and will not affect our daily business operations. In addition, we operate globally in 12 different locations and all locations have access to the same tools and platforms so we can change coverage seamlessly to ensure there are no interruptions in service for our clients.

In terms of response rates, we currently do not see an impact on response rates or participation in any market.

Regionally, especially in China, Japan and Korea the impact of the virus on people’s daily lives is quite significant. Many people have been working from home in China for more than a month, now there is active work from home encouragement in Japan. Many events, both sports and public, have been canceled or held in private – events like this will naturally affect people’s buying mindsets.

The results of the study will also reflect this, but on the positive side, with the focus of online research, we can continue to measure things like purchase intentions regardless of the current problem. We have a variety of online research solutions available to help our clients understand changes in their industry during this challenging period.

We love to talk and hear from our clients, in many cases face-to-face meetings will not be possible in the future. We have access to an industry-leading virtual conference system to ensure that our communications with clients remain essentially unaffected.

We will continue to monitor developments as they occur and take the necessary steps in a timely manner. Meanwhile, with all precautions in place, we will continue our operations as “Business as Usual”.
